MEAT FREE WEEK

At Nourish and Feed, we are big advocates for sustainable eating, which is why we are proud supporters of Meat Free Week. From September 24 – 30, members of our team will be going meat free for seven days and raising funds for Sustainable Table.

Why go meat free? It’s a great opportunity to drive conversation around the impact that eating too much meat might have on our bodies and the environment.

Over the last 10 years alone, total global meat consumption has grown by 20%. The United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organisation estimates that the meat industry generates nearly one-fifth of the man-made greenhouse gas emissions that are accelerating climate change worldwide. The production of meat also requires a huge amount of water. An estimated 1,800 to 2,500 gallons of water go into a single pound of beef.

To put things into perspective, if you and your family were to skip steak once a week, it would be the equivalent of taking your car off the road for nearly three months!

At Nourish and Feed, we want to make it easy to eat meat free, which is why all our main meals are plant-based. Our aim is to make meat-free meals exciting  - we strive to create plant-based meals which are so delicious and full of flavour, that you simply won’t need to add meat.

As Meat Free Week supporters, we have the opportunity to raise funds in support of Bowel Cancer Australia’s vital bowel cancer prevention programs, to help save lives and to improve the health and well-being of people living with and beyond bowel cancer.
